The Clavichord application was originally developed as a Java Web Start (JWS) application.
Unfortunately, JWS was deprecated in Java 9 and clients with newer
versions of Java can no longer use JWS-based applications. As a
workaround, we are now offering the Clavichord application as a simple
JAR-file. Given that you have Java installed, the application may now be
downloaded and started from your command prompt with the following
command: java -jar Clavichord.jar
